Bristol International Airport – an issue for B&NES too!

Elsewhere on the Avonside website, under North Somerset, you will see the local CPRE activity on BIA. I think that many of us are becoming aware that this is an issue for those in our area also.

Many of those in the south-west of our area are affected by their proximity to the airport, but those in parts of Bath are also becoming increasingly aware of the aircraft noise, and that is at current flight volumes, without the additional flights proposed in the aggressive development plans.

We have heard that submission of the planning application has been delayed.  This however does not allay concerns on increased flight numbers, and hence increased aircraft noise, pollution and road traffic.

We need to take a stance on this before it is too late and would recommend that you look at the website www.stopbia.com and register your support, and, if you are planning to comment on the B&NES core strategy document, make reference to concern over airport expansion in your response.
