Local Food
CPRE wishes to see a living countryside, where our farmers are using the land productively and with sensitivity to wildlife and the appearance of the rural landscape. We also believe in encouraging the use of local foods, both to support local agriculture and to reduce the amount of “food miles” with their adverse impact on the environment.
We support South Gloucestershire Council’s Local Food Initiative and a representative from our Committee attends meetings of the Local Food Partnership.
Local food was also the topic of two presentations at the CPRE Avonside District AGM in November 2007. See the press release…
